Through a guided meditation journey, creative practices, storytelling, ritual, and a communal dream altar — This program was convened as an opportunity to delve into participants’ inner dreamscapes to honor and tend to the grief of what was and what can be, both for onesself and our collective wellbeing. This gathering offered a supportive environment to ground, reflect, express, and connect to participants’ inner and outer experiences. 

Mangda Sengvanhpheng is an artist, death doula, and the founder of BACII – a platform that focuses on loss and grief while providing services and offerings that renew our engagement to life. Her life and death work is guided by her Laotian last name, which means “the light of the full moon.” Mangda’s work has been featured in Vogue, VICE, Architecture Digest, NY Mag’s Curbed, and more.

About Cosmologyscape

This program was part of Creative Time’s public art commission Cosmologyscape by artists Alisha B Wormsley and Kite. The multimedia and participatory public art project, presented by Creative Time, is an invitation to the public to dream. Cosmologyscape seeks to harness the duality of dreams—as both individual tools of self-awareness and collective acts of imagination and world-building—and encourages the exploration of dreaming practices through an artist designed interface.
