What We Sow: Food Sovereignty as Sanctuary with Linda Goode Bryant and Mary Mattingly

10.28.2026
6:00 pm–8:00 pm

Artists Linda Goode Bryant and Mary Mattingly explore strategies around food sovereignty in a time of increasing inaccessibility to quality sustenance and nourishing food systems. They have both long understood the intersection of creative practice as tactics to address the inequities of food access, from Bryant’s work through the living installation of Project Eats, to Mattingly’s waterbound food forests, which reimagine the possibilities of foraging in public space.

The program will be melodically interwoven with the surrounding plant life, and include an opportunity to learn about foraging practices as we share a meal. We will also screen an excerpt from Bryant’s documentary from her project Still Life at the Venice Biennale 2026, which includes a 3500 square foot farm that grapples with environmental precarity, rising sea levels, and the impacts of climate change for coastal farming.

Rain Date: Thursday, October 29
