Following the concept of collective care, during a 2 hour workshop, participants learned how to safely perform a tattoo, going through the basics of hand-poke tattooing, while having a conversation about how tattoos can be a powerful means of body reclamation and a way of processing grief or trauma. Participants were given all the supplies needed to perform a tattoo and proceeded to tattoo fruit skin, walking together through every step of the process. Once the tattoos were finished, we peeled each fruit and put all the skin together to create a collective piece.
